Walks Description
Details of our Thursday walks are listed in the timetable. There is often a choice of two walks, but only walk option (a) has a leader.
There is usually NO leader listed for walk option (b) but a member of the group will know the walk. Walk option (b) is generally easier and/or shorter than walk option(a).
If you require more information about a particular walk, please contact the leader listed in the timetable.
Walks Grading
The walks are graded on the timetable as follows
E is for easy and indicates a fairly flat walk with the possibility of modest inclines on a good track surface.
M is for moderate and indicates increased gradients and some hill climbs or a longer distance.
F is for fitness and includes steeper gradients and some mountain climbs. The ground may be rough underfoot.
Time includes a stop for lunch plus some extra stops on the more challenging walks for regrouping.

The Wakatipu Walkers is an informal walking group, formed more than 20 years ago.
We walk for 50 weeks of the year in the Queenstown Lakes area and hike a different trail every week whatever the weather.
There are no fees or subscriptions and no expectation of coming along every week.
Join us - you will be welcome!

General Instructions
- Please arrive 15 minutes early as we start promptly. At the meeting place we car-pool and then drive to the start of the walk. If it is a long drive, the walk leader will ask you to contribute to the petrol costs of the carpool driver.
- Bring lunch and plenty of water. The weather changes very quickly - be prepared! If the forecast is bad, the leader may change the walk, but we rarely cancel.
- Sorry but we do not allow dogs on the walks.
